Frequently Asked Questions About Surrendering an Animal to Homeless to Home

  • Due to the large amount of cats we support, surrenders are by appointment only. Please call us at 740-272-0849 to confirm a date and time that an associate will be available to meet you at the sanctuary. For emergencies, it’s best to take your animal to the nearest emergency veterinary clinic; however, if you are unable to do so, call 740-272-0849 and press Option 1 to be connected to someone right away.

  • We will need as much information as possible about the pet you are surrendering, including past medical conditions and vaccines. Complete the Surrender form to help Homeless to Home process the intake of your animal.

  • While there is no cost to surrender an animal, it would be extremely helpful to bring any and all supplies (cat food, litter, favorite toy/blanket) at the time of surrender to keep the animal comfortable. We are always thankful for donations; in fact, we are 100% reliant on donations to run our facility.

  • The cat will receive a health exam, be vaccinated and spayed/neutered if needed, be evaluated for temperament, and then be placed for adoption or foster care.
